The clean water from mud pool is flowed to the filtering, while the silt is used by the society for environment maintenance such as streets and embankment. The volume of silt used by the community in 2016 was 3,532 m3, while it was 92,179 m3 in 2015.The silt was used for strengthening the infrastructure as shown in the table below:

Utilization of Environmental-Friendly Energy and Material

The implementation of environmental-friendly green building concept is currently a rapid-growing trend in construction industry. One of essential parts in green building concept is the utilization of environmental- friendly construction materials, including concrete. The construction materials are drawn, produced, used, and maintained as minimum as possible to reduce damage to the environment. Concrete is composed of cement, sand, gravel, and water materials, as well as other additional materials to  achieved the desired quality. Several addition materials  contribute significantly in creating energy and waste, thus impact the environment. In the effort to reduce the negative impact of concrete production material, the Company has assessed and utilized the more environmental-friendly material and energy to produce concrete. They are:

  • Utilization of other materials, such as fly ash, hulk ash,  bagasse ash, metakaolin, and silica fume as pozzolan  that is able to reduce most of the use of cement;
  • Development of high quality concrete mix design, recycled material utilization, artificial material and  industry waste such as tailing, bottom ash, ferronickel, and glass as aggregate;
  • Development of bacteria-based self healing concrete, concrete that can heal itself by using bacteria;
  • Utilization of cement substitute material as basic bonding material such as alkali activated material and geopolymer, a material formed by using alkali activation on silica-alumina-rich basic material as the precursor.
